Coffee Room circa 1902 One of Chicago's most important contributions to the American social reform movement was the settlement house, which provided the poor with educational and recreational programs. The Arts & Crafts-style structure was designed by architects known for their settlement house designs, including portions of Jane Addams' Hull House, another Chicago Landmark.
