Opening Layers

Layers display geographic information on a map. The layers are displayed in different formats, shapes or icons such as images, text, tiles, etc. Layers control the way a user sees different classes of information.

Basemap and open weather layers are built dynamically based on what's available through the map service provider. In the lower right corner of the grid, there are active links provided with information about map data and Esri services.

Other layers in the application are used to monitor, track and provide visualization on what's happening around the city. It also provides information about the area where the layer overlays.

To apply a layer on the map, hover over the layer icon on the grid; a list of layer categories will appear, select a layer category type which will collapse and expose all category types.

Map/Base Layers

The layers’ icon displays multiple basemap views and open weather layers. The list is built dynamically based on what's available through the map service provider. In the lower right hand corner on the grid, there is information and active links provided about the map services. The initial launch page displays the default basemap called street view.
